Lütts Landlust Quitte Bio-Direktsaftschorle
An organic quince spritzer with 60 per cent not-from-concentrate juice of the Vranja pear quince, gloriously tart, bottled by Friedrich Lütvogt in Wagenfeld. The almost forgotten fruit has a delicate, fresh scent, somewhere between pear and apple, and yet entirely its own.
What sets this product apart
The quince does not make things easy: its flesh is hard, and it takes time before you can enjoy it. As a spritzer it shows what it is made of. The juice of the Vranja pear quince, pressed in Saxony, brings 60 per cent fruit into the glass, plus a fine tartness of the kind you know from quince jelly, compote or quince paste.
Lütts Landlust sets out to be more than a nostalgic look back: in Wagenfeld, Friedrich Lütvogt works with not-from-concentrate juices, seeks direct contact with primary producers and, for speciality fruits, opts for organic produce wherever possible. In 2020 a new timber warehouse was added; it blends into the village fabric and, developed with the Fachhochschule Osnabrück (university of applied sciences), carries what is currently the largest green roof for biodiversity: more than 10,000 square metres.
