Apple meets blueberry: in its liqueur ABEL, the Private Kornbrennerei H. Heydt, a grain distillery in Haselünne, combines the clear fruit note of ripe apples with the slightly tart nuance of dark blueberries. New from May 2026, available from the distillery and from specialist retailers.
What sets this product apart
Ripe apples give ABEL a juicy, clear fruit note, while dark blueberries add a fine, slightly tart nuance. In the glass, the liqueur is round and present: fruity and soft at first, then with a noticeable intensity on the finish. It works neat, on ice, as a shot or as a fruity accent in a cocktail, such as the ABEL Spritz.
The Private Kornbrennerei H. Heydt has been distilling in Haselünne since 1860. The family business stands for careful processing, craftsmanship & distinctive spirits with a clear brand identity. The liqueur's name tells a story too: Abel is a figure from the biblical narrative, and the label picks up this imagery and plays with the motif of the serpent, a subtle hint at the temptation in the glass.
