Leindotteröl
A fresh salad oil with a buttery note from the Ölacker in Northeim: Leindotter, or camelina, grows on the farm's own fields as a support crop for green lentils, harvested together and afterwards separated again mechanically in the farm's own seed-cleaning plant.
What sets this product apart
This camelina oil tastes unlike the familiar vegetable oils: very harmonious, buttery, with the faintest hint of asparagus on the palate. It is best used unheated: it works wonderfully in dressings and dips, and on steamed vegetables it stands in for the proverbial knob of butter. That is how camelina enriches healthy, varied cooking.
The farm's own oil mill in Northeim has run under the brand “der Ölacker” since 2021: the siblings lead the family business in its seventh generation and started the project five years ago. From choosing the seed through growing and harvesting to cleaning on the farm, everything stays in one pair of hands, and you can taste it. Year after year the team tries out new varieties until a full, distinctive flavour goes into the tin.
Very harmonious, the faintest hint of asparagus, great packaging.
A coherent overall picture.
